OUR MISSION
We are an eclectic, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and encourage community based talent through inspirational music and performance. We strive to unite people from all backgrounds and nationalities to create a growing outreach to aspiring individuals, developing personal growth and enrichment, and community service.
OUR VISION
We are voices that sound in beauty as one melody and in harmony. Through music, we search for excellence as we weave beyond ourselves "beautiful sounds that open the hearts of humankind."
HOW WE CAME TO BE
The inspiration for the concept of the initial program came as a far away sounding echo . . . a call of faith and the love of all kinds of music. Many joined from different backgrounds and parts of the world to share their time, gifts, and voices. Together, we elevated our hopes and prayers, welcoming all to join.
The initial concert took place in September of 2006 with no plans for future endeavors. The response was so overwhelming that a second concert was organized and Voices, honoring the name of the first event, was born. In 2007, "Canto ad una Terra, Song to One World" was presented at Holy Trinity in Peachtree City and The Legacy Theater in Tyrone as a Benefit for Wellspring Living. Over 500 people showed up for the free concert at Holy Trinity. The benefit at The Legacy sold out enabling a gift of $2,000 to this wonderful organization after meeting expenses. This event involved over 100 individuals from seven different groups, who performed in six languages.
OUR MUSIC
Our programs are very eclectic in nature, drawing from many styles: pop tunes, rock, Christian Contemporary, spirituals, musicals to classical masterpieces, including opera, sacred music, instrumental and symphonic works. All these different flavors of music are woven together thematically, resulting in very dynamic and varied programs that reach the hearts of the most demanding and young audiences.
The key to this mix is the message that brings them together and the flow through out the program. Every piece leads to the next and all together brings forth an imbedded conceptual thought that looks to inspire all those who are listening.
OUR TALENT
Our programs unite some of the best performers of the area, combining professionals of the music field, theater and dance with amateurs and young emerging talent. We look to provide a fulfilling and challenging opportunity for all involved. Professional performers get the chance to showcase their skills as well as to share their experience with the younger generation involved. Amateurs get an opportunity to perform in a one-of-a-kind event and all get to share in the creative environment as well as giving back to our community.
OUR GOAL
We look to provide a full circle endeavor. This begins with offering a creative outlet for our local talent -- and, hopefully in the future, a means of employment -- as well as an artistic exchange with other sources, when possible. It continues with the presentation of high quality live performances (and everything related to these efforts) and concludes with our supporting, at the same time, other worthy communal initiatives.
WE BELIEVE IN MUSIC... We believe in the power of music. We believe that music can heal bodies, hearts and souls. We believe that music can bring together peoples of different worlds who otherwise never would. We believe that music can speak where words are amiss. That music is a friend that is always there when we need it. That music gives the mind wings, the heart warmth, and the soul a door to heaven. We believe that the world is a better place because there is music.
